Wyatt, Chloe and Adell - Crockett Cousins2010 |
While we were there, we went to The Holy Land Experience in Orlando, Florida. We took our great niece Adell with us. If you're ever looking for a fun place to visit that is inexpensive, and does not have roller coasters - that's the place to go! It had lots of Bible history, things for adults and kids. Only $62 for FOUR people! Well, that price didn't include a meal - but still - no comparison to the price of Disney!
We also went to Sea World. We got to pet Sting Rays, watch the Sea Lion & Otter show, watch the Whale & Dolphin show and all kinds of other exciting creatures. Chloe rode her FIRST big roller coaster. I rode The Manta roller coaster. The ride starts you out UPSIDE DOWN flying over the park! I think that ride will do me for about 10 years! LOL Gloria, Lamar, Brian, Sydney, Grady, Wyatt and Adell joined us for that trip.

Curtis and the guys went fishing (Brian, Lamar and Curtis). While Ruthie and the girls and little kids (Gloria, Ruthie, Chloe, Wyatt, Adell, Grady and Sydney) went to Kid Tropolis (similar to Chuck E Cheese).
We also went to Bethune Beach, New Smyrna Beach & Cocoa Beach! NO OIL on any of those beaches during our stay! They were all beautiful! We also stopped at the world's largest Ron Jon Surf Shop - in Cocoa Beach. That place is HUGE. We also got to visit with Carrie, Chris and Kate and had the pleasure of meeting Kate's mom, Karin Haas. And, at the Crockett Resort - Chloe learned to swim without floaties in a 32 ft pool!

To top the trip off - on the way home to Tennessee - Chloe figured out how to blow bubbles with bubble gum! Now, I'd say THAT is the perfect ending to a perfect trip!

Ruthie!!! Thanks for this very informative blog post. I was in Kissimmee for a week (as you know) but I did not go to any of the places of entertainment. I wished for you and your sisters so I could have taken you with me to Lacoochee for Sunday School and Church. As you know - that's where your Daddy was born. I loved reading about your family's adventures and how many things Chloe has learned to do during the summer.
I'd like to take the holy land trip. I mean a real holy land trip. Since I can't afford it, I'd love to take the one to Orlando. I've missed to possible times to see it - last year with the A/G General Council and this year with the COG General Assembly. I could have worked my way in with either group. Maybe next year Janis and I could just go on our own for the visit. I'm glad you all had a great time.
