I failed to mention that on March 30th - Chloe went for her first dentist appointment. She was such a BIG girl and went back by herself to have her teeth cleaned! When the dentist examined her - he advised we needed to see a pediatric dentist..... for 7 cavities...... So, off we went to the pediatric dentist who confirmed 6 of the teeth would have to be dealt with quickly. And, so the journey began....
April 12th - Chloe had a tooth extracted, a pulpotomy (a.k.a. baby root canal) and a crown. She was SO BRAVE. I was the one waiting in the lobby needing prayer while my baby girl was back there! She came out smiling, holding the gauze in her mouth - such a big girl. She couldn't eat for an hour - but, as usual after a doctor appointment - Chloe wanted to go to Memaw & Popaw's house. I'm sure she feels comfort and love - which always help make you feel better. When we got there, Memaw had made home-made soup for her & it wasn't very long until Chloe got to eat the soup. Memaw's SO sweet & thoughtful.
April 27th - Chloe had 2 more pulpotomy procedures done and 2 more crowns. She was brave, but evidently a bit more numb this time. It took quite some time to convince her that the numb feeling was normal and that it would go away. We again had to wait an hour before eating, but as usual - she wanted to go to Memaw & Popaw's house. This time - Memaw & Popaw gave her chocolate Blue Bell ice cream - I do believe it's Chloe's favorite.
and - Now, We're finally to MAY!!!!!!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!!!
But, even tho we're done with April & made it to May - we're not done with the Dentist.....
May 11th - Chloe had 1 more pulpotomy done, 1 more crown and a cavity filled. By this point - SHE was the one that was apprehensive about going back - understandable at this point. But, she was again my BRAVE big girl and went back. Numbness lasted even longer this time & she couldn't eat or drink anything for a longer period of time. So... in an effort to appease her, I asked if she wanted to go to Memaw & Popaw's? Or perhaps shopping? She said shopping - anywhere that does not have food! I had thought about the Dollar Tree, but Chloe reminded me - they have chips, cookies and candy there.. So, we went to "Lily's", "Burke's Outlet" and even "Buddy's Home Rentals"....
We now hope we are DONE with the dentist - except for the usual cleanings. I am thankful that we have dental insurance - but even with it - my pocketbook is hoping no more of this! Thank you Lord that Lydia never had cavities - only had to pay for braces for her. ;0)

April & May - Grandkids in Concert @ Lee's Conn Center! - April 7th
I received a call from my grand-daughter, Crystal letting me know about her band concert at Lee on Thursday, April 7th. I had been telling her I wanted to see/hear her. So, I was thrilled we could attend. Curtis, Chloe and I went & met up with my daughter-in-law, Amie. Terry had Catelynn & Collin at home. Chelsea was there - she came with her dad. And, we got a Bonus - our grandson, Colby was performing in the band too! So - we were EXTRA glad we got to go. They really did a GREAT job. The 6th grade band was amazing - hard to believe it was their 1st year in band. Then came the 7th grade - with our beautiful Crystal. Nana was beaming. Then came 8th grade - with our multi-talented Colby.....
Nana, Popaw & Aunt Chloe were SO PROUD of Crystal & Colby! I think their mom & sister were proud too! Thanks for inviting us Crystal!!!

March, April, May - Part II Kindergarten Round-Up, March 15, 2011
The entire Kindergarten class at Yates Primary presented a "round-up". Stephanie Smith took Chloe shopping so she'd have just the right jeans, boots, shirt & cow-girl hat. Thanks Stephanie!
We were very blessed that Memaw & Popaw were able to come. It meant a lot to me - but it meant even more to Chloe. Thanks so much for coming!
Chloe had a speaking part - her line was "I really don't think mommas want their babies to grow up to be cowboys".....

March, April, May - we're getting there! March 11th Hillbilly HoeDown! @ Yates Primary
March 11th brought fun at the Hillbilly HoeDown fundraiser at Chloe's school, Yates Primary. It was fun. There was a chili supper, silent auction and live music - which the kids loved. We took Catelynn with us & she had just as much fun as Chloe & her friends. We also got to spend time with Aunt "Cammy" aka Frankie - since it's her school too.
I'm also excited to say that I won the bid for a photo session with Carrie Workman (can't wait to have that done in June). Her daughter, Olivia is in the picture below.... as well as my friend Gloria's son, Grayson, Chloe's BEST friend at school this year - Kendall, Chloe & Catelynn.........

Feb, March, April & May Part II - My Trip to Chicago
The week following Chloe's birthday - I went to Chicago for a business trip. I had only ever seen the Chicago O'Hare airport - so it was nice to spend some time actually seeing a bit of the city.
This is the new "World of Whirlpool". We were sent to focus on the Jenn-Air brand of products, but this facility is full of "all things Whirlpool".
The first night - we actually ate in the top section of the building - where the clock is.

Here's the group that I went with. Some are from Cleveland, one from Knoxville and the rest are from our headquarters in Benton Harbor, Michigan. They actually took a train ride to get there - versus we (Tennesseans) flew to Chicago.
Lydia told me we had to eat Chicago style deep dish pizza and go hear some blues.... So.....
We actually were given free tickets from our hotel to go to the House of Blues - right across from our hotel. Then, to top it off, after we got in - they upgraded us - for free to a VIP room. This wasn't really my "cup of tea" but I'm glad we went and had the experience.... especially since it was FREE. ;0)
Hope you enjoyed sharing my little trip to Chicago.

Feb, March, April & May
Wow - I cannot believe how long it's been since I posted on here! Not that I have a bunch of readers - but I am hoping that one day my children & grandchildren look back and see just how much they were my FAVORITE subject. :0)
So, the next few entries will be an attempt to play "catch-up".....
February 12th
Our sweet little angel, Chloe - turned 6 years old! Thanks to a bonus from my work, we had her celebration at 'Bounce Around' here in Cleveland. We were able to have the party room for 1 1/2 hours and then all that wanted to were able to bounce as much as they wanted, and we gave them all 20 tokens each to play games. SO very thankful for that bonus. ;0)
My dear, longtime friend, Donna Ellis owns Cupcake Divas here in Cleveland. She made this huge cupcake cake for Chloe. Ironic - about 20 years ago - she made Lydia's birthday cake....
And, after the party - we had the pleasure of spending quality time with 5 of our grandkids. Yes, Nana just had to give them some extra tokens. Colby & Crystal generously donated their tickets to Chloe - so she was able to get some pretty cool "prizes".

We were so thankful that my Mom and Dad came. As did about 75 other people. Good thing I also made cupcakes in a addition to having the cake and ice cream! HUGE crowd - to say the least. We were blessed with the presence of family, church friends, Chloe's school friends, my work friends and long time friends. And, there were so many presents we didn't even have time to open them in the party room. Thank you to EVERYONE for helping us celebrate Chloe's birthday.
